Install LAMP on CentOS 6.5



Here is an easy to follow guide to setup LAMP on CentOS 6.5

Step 1.) Install Apache2
In your SSH session type the following to install Apache:
Code:
yum -y install httpd

Run the following command to start Apache at boot time:
Code:
chkconfig --levels 235 httpd on

To start Apache:
Code:
/etc/init.d/httpd start

Put your server IP in the address bar and you will see the Apache test page.

Step 2.) Install MySQL
In your SSH session type the following to install MySQL:
Code:
yum -y install mysql mysql-server

Run the following command to start MySQL at boot time:
Code:
chkconfig --levels 235 mysqld onn

To start MySQL:
Code:
/etc/init.d/mysqld start

To set a MySQL root password run the following:

mysql_secure_installation

3.) Install PHP 5
Run the following command to install PHP5 and the Apache PHP5 module:
Code:
yum -y install php

Restart Apache:
Code:
/etc/init.d/httpd restart

Run the following command to add MySQL support in PHP 5:
Code:
yum -y install php-mysql

Install some common PHP modules:
Code:
yum -y install php-gd php-imap php-ldap php-odbc php-pear php-xml php-xmlrpc php-mbstring php-mcrypt php-mssql php-snmp php-soap php-tidy curl curl-devel
